Graphite on Cotton Paper

A well known figure in the London menswear community, Moteen's also a good friend. We initially bonded over a mutual belief that clothes are an interesting hobby, and maybe even important in their own way, but more important is the person wearing the clothes.

In this piece I left the clothing as a sort of ghost to draw attention to the subject in the middle - clothes can frame the wearer, making the wearer look good, but they’re not the main thing.

This was a personal commission, and an exercise in realism. It was one of the pieces that came out of a self-imposed period of study.
